The H90e replaces the H70e, HealthRider’s entry-level elliptical trainer. This stable machine has significant upgrades such as a motorized incline, additional built-in workout programs, and iFit technology.
Elliptical Hits: What You Get
The HealthRider H90e elliptical scores well on the basics listed below.
- iFit technology – iFit workout technology is a key feature of the H90e. Interactive workout cards, which each include 8 weeks of personal training, can be loaded into the elliptical’s console.
- Workout programs – The H90e includes 20 personal trainer workouts, 2 heart rate workouts, and 2 user-designed workouts. Ten levels of resistance are available. The machine’s heart rate workouts and iFit workouts automatically adjust resistance to fit the individual user’s needs.
- Incline – The motorized ramp lets users exercise at up to a 30 degree incline, thereby dramatically adding to the efficiency of their workouts. The incline forces users to burn calories more quickly and exercise a variety of muscle groups.
- Upper body exercise – The machine’s upper body workout arms give users the option of exercising their arms and legs simultaneously.
- Shorter stride – The Healthrider H90e has an 18” stride that lets shorter users exercise without feeling overwhelmed by the machine. However, the stride length isn’t suitable for taller users.
- User capacity – The elliptical’s 325-pound capacity can accommodate most users.
- Foldable design – The H90e’s pedals and base can easily be folded to save almost 3 feet of floor space.
Elliptical Errors: What’s Missing
- Short warranty – HealthRiders are often sold with standard warranties of just 30 to 90 days. Optional 1, 2, and 3-year warranty packages are sold separately.
Overall Rating for the HealthRider H90e Elliptical
If 18” fits your range of motion, the HealthRider H90e might be a great investment. For a longer stride, consider the next step up: the H140e.
The H90e provides solid basics and more to help people get in shape. The incline is an especially useful feature; incline training really does burn calories more quickly, and it helps to tone muscle groups that aren’t so challenged on a level surface. Also, the iFit workouts (sold separately) are a great way to keep exercise varied and challenging.
While this seems to be a great machine, its short warranty is a cause for concern. Similar models with better warranties are offered by Reebok, Sole, and NordicTrack.
