Stamina’s Air Resistance 1723 or 1724 is a very low-cost elliptical machine. The 1723 and 1724 are actually the same product, but they have different numbers because of being manufactured at different facilities. Like the first model in this series, the Stamina 1723/1724 earns just one star for its instability, cheap parts, and extremely short stride.

• Stability – These lightweight trainers have an advertised user capacity of 250 pounds, but 150 pounds seems like a more reasonable weight limit.

• Overall quality – Customers complain of noisy operation and easily broken machine parts.

• Resistance – The 1723/1724 Air Resistance cross trainers only have 8 resistance levels. Most elliptical machines offer at least double the resistance.

• Short stride – The 13” stride is too short to support a healthy gait for most adults.

• Short warranty – These Stamina machines have 1-year frame warranties and 90-day parts warranties.

The Stamina Air Resistance 1723 and 1724 cross trainers are not recommended. While their low price is attractive, that money would probably be better spent on a gym membership. For a few hundred dollars more, much better budget ellipticals with low monthly payment plans are offered by Horizon, Schwinn, and other brands. Stamina’s Avari GX8 is also a better value, but it has a significantly higher MSRP.
